MAJOR PROJECTS

National Certification Database – designed original certification database, researched occupational certifications, and populated the database. Coded certifications to O*NET. (1998 to present)

Detailed Work Activities – as part of a team, edited statements of work (now called Detailed Work Activities) and coded them to O*NET occupations. (2000-2002)

Career Information Delivery System (CIDS) – improved system by designing a more user-friendly presentation of labor market information. Continue to update occupational information and link occupations to programs of study, industries, and associations. (2002 to present)

Development of O*NET – Participated in research during development of O*NET system, including review of information technology’s proposed role in O*NET, development of procedures to provide technical assistance to O*NET users, training of analysts to use conversion software, and conversion of DOT data to O*NET occupations. (1992-1998)

Update of DOT – Researched occupations for the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT). Set up and conducted industry studies, observed and analyzed jobs, classified job and worker characteristics, and wrote occupational definitions for the last update of the DOT. (1984-1991).
